Learning Support Service

The TUS Midwest Learning Support Unit provides free academic support to all registered TUS students on request. All services are based on a supervised self-help model involving tutors and students. The tutors provide comprehensive feedback to students on their work, discuss the feedback and invite the student to follow-up with appointments on other tasks where they may need support. Students are also encouraged to attend group workshops and seminars to help improve their academic skills. This learning support is underpinned by the principles of active learning, with the student leading the process. Students experience many challenges both 58 2.1 Support Services on and off campus and the objective is to provide appropriate learning support when required.

The Learning Support Unit will be working alongside the Disability Service in January 2024, for the provision of additional workshops , which will focus specifically on Presentation and group work presentations.

Tutorial support is available by application via the link above. The (LSU) also offer various academic workshops throughout the college year. Some of which include research skills, academic writing, Harvard Referencing and more.
